Overview
VJ Henque (aka Henk Nijman, formaly known as Shurly), is everything you’d expect in an artist…and more, maybe more than you can handle. This flamboyant red haired bearded maverick ? almost single handedly reinvents VJing every year with his vast technical knowlegde and appetite for technology. Sick holograms are only his baseline. Anything below a military grade zillion GHz TB computer he considers a pocket calculator (casually crashing supercomputers with his renders anyway). Hitting literally tens of millions of Instagram views with his super vibrant detailed 3D eyecandy, and now also a specialist in applying game engines like Unreal and VR to VJing.
So what does this all lead to on screen? A dedicated circle of fans and residencies, like Drum-n-Base heaven WTF and the (infamous) Doornroosje underground scene in general, and most recently, becoming a full band member as a VJ of Killerhertz. For all of these he makes incredible miniature masterpieces of trailers and teasers, as well as blinding abstract LED attacks on tour retinas. He’s proudly true to his roots in laid back medieval Zutphen in the pastoral heart/backwaters of the Netherlands., and proud of the fact that VjAcademy is his first and only diploma since elemtary school (rightly so, we think). All this doesn’t seem to hold him back to conquer the world, starting with Europe where he tours on a regular basis.
